President Obama's Inauguration seach on Tuesday of January 09 was held In Washington In front of thousands of people who voted for Obama and thought that his Ideas where unique. In this speech he spoke allot about the last 43 Presidents America and how It would not be this Strong of a country with out them The main thing Mr. Obama spoke about was pretty much all the Issues we are facing now Global Warming, war In Iraq and nation debt. he seems pretty confident about fixing the situations and hopes all of us would pitch In.One of the main things that got me was that he says "We remain a young nation, but In the words of Scripture, the time has come to set aside childish things. that could me because he calls the nation young and It sounds lIke he will make this a much more mature stronger nation. Another quote that could my eye Is that he says, "The challenges will not be met easily or In a short time . But know this they will be met." that could my attention again because he sounds so confident about solving the problems that he will do anything to get there.. The speech kept we wanting to read witch was really good and while I was reading I noticed they caught my attention because Mr. Obama was sounding serious the whole time he wasn't like I will solve this he actually put a little depth In It. another thing was that he told about all of the Issues. I thought that there would just be a few that he would talk about but he actually talked about them all and explained what he was thinking about to solve them. The last thing I caught was that he didn't go to In depth with the speech he kept It short and easy to understand. No big words, and no switching from on subject to another all of a sudden. The main thing In his speech that I thought was Important was that we all need to work together with our nation. He cant do every thing by him self because he would barley get to everything. It would be like giving a five year old 3 harry potter books and telling him to right a 500 word essay on all of them. It would be really hard and you would have to get some help from many people. To me I think he will try his best at fixing the cracks In America and hope fully fix them all.
President Barak Obama was inagurated on January 20, 2009. This inaguration was viewed world wide, whether the people were there live or watching it from home. Like every inaguration it makes history, but this one was different, President Obama is the first African American president. during Obama's speech he stated, " Today I say to you that the challenges we face are real." Mr. Obama Stated, "They are serious and they are many. They will not be met easily of in a short span of time. But Know this, America- They will be met!" This statement really makes me beleive him, it makes him trust e as a president. I think the most important thing a president needs to succeed is trust.
Barak Obama Talks about war in his speech and he states, ".... and because we have tasted the bitter swill of civil war and segregation, and emerged from that dark chapter stronger and more united, we cannot help but beleive that the old hatreds shall someday pass; that the lines of tribe shall soon disolve; that as the world grows smaller, our commoon humanity shall reveal itself; and that America must play a role in ushering in a new era of peace" this part of his speech empowered me, it made me think, it made me feel. I beleive that the war is a very different sided topic, but Obama reached not only one but many sides. President Obama also brings up how the government must do things and is oredered to do things, but how how American citizens faith and determination is what brings kindness to the world. During his speech he said, " It is the kindeness to take in a stranger when levees break, the selflessness of workers who would rather cut their hours than see a friend loose their job which sees us through our darkest hours." When i read this part of th speech it made me think, yeah there might be those selfless kind people in the world but we need more people to be that way. It seems like every one these days are so greedy and won't share anything, well we need to change that and i beleive preisdent Obama will. Thus statement also made me realize maybe this world isn't such a horrible place.
Mr. Obama used a lot of persausive techniques in his speech. The persausive techniques that stood out most to me were; the emotion and sympathy he used, his strong words and his symbolism. One of the places in his speech I saw a lot of emotion was when he said, " We will not apoligize for our way of life, nor will we waver in it's defense, and for those who seek to advance their aims by inducing terror and slaughtering innocents, we say to you now that our spirit is stronger and cannot be broken; you cannot outlast us, and we wil defeat you." This part of the speech spoke to me, it said that our new president is putting his foot down, and people can do what they want but we will not back down and will stand and fight if needed. Throughout the entire speech there was many strong words used, ones that specifically sood out and meant something to me. some of these words were; equal, free, happiness, courage, trust and many more. Lastly I really liked the symbolism he used, the part of the speech i saaw symbolism most was when he was talking about the presidential oath. " The words have been spoken during rising tides of prosperity and the the still waters of peace. Yet, evry so often the oath is taken amidst gathering clouds and raging storms." All of these techniques really persauded me and made me beleive Obama really wnats this and wants to help the United States of America change for the better.
The message i got out of this speech was that president barak Obama really beleives in the U.S and wants to better it in any way he can. He wants peace and he wants safety. Mr. Obama is trustworthy and we should give him our trust. Obama states this at the end of his speech, " In the face of common dangers, in our winter of our hardship, let us remember thee timeless words. With hope and virtue, let us brave once more the icy currents and endure what storms may come. Let it be siad by our children's children that when we were tested we refused to let this journey end, that we did not turn back nor did we falter; and with eyes fixed on the horizen and God's grace upon us, we carried forth that great gift of freedom and delivered it safely to future generations." Now i ask you, does that sound like a trustworthy president? Well my answer is yes!
"They will not be met easily or in a short span of time. But know this, America - they will be met," The 44th president Barack Obama says on his Inauguration Day of January 20, 2009. Barack Obama would speak about change in America, challenges we face and how we must solve them. Compared to other Inaugural speeches, in my opinion, this is one of the greatest. Obama would talk about everything happening, not just about freedom or our problems in the world. He also talked about how we as Americans have to do our part.
The words that he spoke of were very descriptive and influential. Barack would use the best choice of words for having an imagery type. He would not just use the same words, or his same slogan , "Yes We Can." Barack Obama made a historical and very emotional day with his speech. When he spoke, it would be complete silence throughout the audience. Barack would speak with such poise and wisdom that it just gives you hope. Do you know when you're going to a concert? That everyone loves who their going to see. When you go to one of Barack Obama's rallies, it is everyone joining in together to achieve their goal of making one man the President of the United States.
He started his speech off with thanking former president Bush and that he was grateful that we have trusted him for Presidential Oath. Then he stated, "Today I say to you that the challenges we face are real. They are serious and they are many. They will not be met easily or in a short span of time. But know this, America - they will be met." Barack Obama said that we all deserve our right to pursue dreams. I believe that that statement is true and just shouldn't be said but put to action. I believe that Barack Obama could make that happen. "In reaffirming the greatness of our nation, we understand that greatness is never a given. It must be earned," Obama stated. We all have the power to earn that greatness. It is always up to you to make the right choices in life to pursue and achieve. "All this we can do. All this we will do," Obama says. When he says statements as such, it is a promise that he what he says he will put it in action.
Obama doesn't seem to be the type of leader that is interested in pleasing one class or race of people. He expresses a desire to help the country as a whole. In fact he expresses a strong desire to help the world. "Know that your people will judge you on what you can build, not what you destroy," I felt like that was a very important part of his speech because it speaks to people in nations that are ruled by tyrants. Instead of saying if you don't do things our way we'll bomb your nation, he's saying that if you change your ways and build a better life for your people, then we're here to help.
Obama is a remarkable speaker and a great choice to run our great country. We all have to put our faith in him and come together to unite to gain what we are in need of. It is up to us to do what we need to. We can never just sit around an wait for things to happen. It is up to us to make a change. For motivation all you could ever need is just seeing the sun in the morning. Obama gives us that hope that everyone is looking for. The hope he gives us is just letting us know that we are all not alone. Obama is a great role model for everyone, he is a overall great person. Both Barack and his wonderful wife, Michelle. We all can look up to someone with a positive attitude and great values to them. Barack Obama does not just have the title President of the United States, he has earned the title Mr. President.
Inagueration of Barack Obama- Analysis By: Samantha Scott 1/22/09
On January 20, 2009, Barack Hussien Obama impressing millions while giving his Inagueration for becoming the president of the United States. Mr. Obama while now be residing in the White House until 2013, unless added or subtracted to otherwise. In this speech Obama favored the words: nation, challenge, America, time, storm, and hour. 2.5 million citizens of all sorts came to listen to President Obama's speech in Washington D.C. This did not include the enormous amount of citizens that watched his speech live on tv. While observing the people that attended his speech, i noticed people like: his parents, wife and kids, people of old age and young adult, people of all races, war veterans, and even to the homeless standing in the back. It was an impressive and eye-opening speech for all to hear.
When Obama had presented this speech, he really pushed the fact on how we are going to have to go through a lot of change. Like he says, "Our nation is at war... Our economy is badly weakened... Homes have been lost...Jobs shed... Businesses shuttered... Our health care is too costly... Our schools fail too many... Each day brings further evidence that the ways we use energy strengthen our adversaries and threaten our planet." This why so many people voted for Mr. Obama, they needed change, a new leaf to start on. We now look up to him that he will lead us in the right direction, bringing us back to a stable situation.
"In reaffirming the greatness of our nation, we understand that greatness is never a given. It must be earned...." Obama had made a strong point on how we are going to have to work hard to make our nation succesful. Those who are great achieve greatness, those that do not try don't get the job done. Many people in our country do not become succesful in a bussiness if they barely got through high school with a 2.1 GPA average. Those who did reach their goal, went to college and tried their hardest. Our nation's goal is to become the best we can be, which requires hard work from everyone.
Obama used a variety of techniques to appeal to his listeners while he presented his speech. One technique that kept the speech intresting, was using a variety of words. The entire essay had not repeated words very often, instead he chose another word that would still keep the strength of the speech strong. Another technique that helped keep the speech strong, was using emotional appeal: like the words crisis, irresponsibility, greed, failed, patchwork, etc. The final technique i realized was put into this speech was the use of similies and metaphors. While hearing the inagueration, I noticed two main metaphors: the first one being, "The words have been spoken during rising tides of prosperity and the still waters of peace. Yet, every so often the oath is taken amidst gathering clouds and raging storms." Then followed by the second, "In the face of our common dangers, in this winter of our hardship.... Let us brave once more the icy currents, and endure what storms may come." He was wise by stating in the begining of the speech, the symbolism for the storm, and then bringing it back in the end.
Most could probably tell Obama's main point of this speech, was to show that he plans to change America in the next few years. By using the constant notices of the things we need to fix. When Obama had created his slogans, they had said things like "change" and "hope." This is who we are all looking to for the next 4 years. He has high hopes to keep this country in order and in high quality type. After giving this speech of high goals, many citizens have high hopes for the 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama.
January 20, 2009 was an important day in the history of the United States of America. Barack Obama was inaugurated into his first term as President. Millions of people watched the inauguration in the United States and in other countries. President Obama's main ideas in his speech were the challenges that he would face and the policies he has to solve.
One main idea in the speech was the economy. President Obama even said, "The state of the economy calls for action, bold and swift, and we will act - not only to create new jobs, but to lay a new foundation for growth." That sentence describes the challenges he will face and his policies on how he will fix the economy. Another main idea was how he will fix the environment. The President talked about his policies for changing the way the people use the fossil fuels. President Obama said in his speech "We will harness the sun and the winds and the soil to fuel our cars and run our factories." Hopefully, he will do something to change the problems with the environment.
In his speech, President Obama used different persuasive techniques. One technique he used was allusions. He used many allusions. In his speech he talked about the founding fathers, segregation, people in the military, and immigration just to name a few. One example is, "For us, they toiled in sweatshops and settled the west; endured the lash of the whip and plowed the hard earth." Another persuasive technique he used was imagery. An example of imagery by President Obama is "Yet, every so often the oath is taken amidst gathering clouds and raging storms." He is describing how some presidential inaugurations are taken during hard times. One more persuasive technique he used was appeal to authority. He used a quote from George Washington during the darkest days of the Revolutionary War. The quote was "Let it be told to the future world... that in the depth of winter, when nothing but hope and virtue could survive... that city and the country, alarmed at one common danger, came forth to meet [it]." This is appeal to authority because George Washington is the father of our country, who is respected by all Americans.
The main message of President Obama's speech was to bring people together. The speech united Americans as 'We the People' of the United States, not Democrats and Republicans. When he said, "For as much as government can do and must do, it is ultimately the faith and determination of the American people upon which this nation relies," he described how the American people have a history of coming together and solving difficult problems. It was an important day for the United States when Mr. Obama's speech was given. Hopefully President Obama will help America and it's people with all the different issues that the people face today.
President Barack Hussein Obama made his inauguration speech on January twentieth, 2009. Thousands watched, whether on their television, or their in the flesh. There were nearly 37.8 million people in all watching Obama making his historic speech, and he touched us all with his wise words, such as "We have chosen hope over fear." Barack Obama not only represents hope for our country, but is the first African American president to every be elected; he is making history.
There were two main points that Obama brought up constantly during his speech. One, of which was that our nation is experiencing a crisis which we all need to recognize, as well as that he will lead us out of this crisis. The other being that this era will pass and peace will once again be restored, although it won't be easy and we need to join with others to make peace. I think we all recognize that we are in a crisis, and in Obama's speech he let us know that he was ready to lead us on the path of recovery; recovery from the Economy, Health Care, Schools, and etc. "The state of the economy calls for action, bold and swift." He reminded us that the journey would be long and very difficult, but it will be completed over time; he is starting a new beginning. "For everywhere we look, there is work to be done." The second main idea he brought up in his speech, is that there is hope, and we must become one with those across our nation; that peace will come again. "We cannot help but believe that the old hatreds shall someday pass; that the lines of tribe shall soon dissolve; that as the world grows smaller, our common humanity shall reveal itself; and that America must play its role in ushering in a new era of peace", he said. He told how our world is made up of those from every religion and culture, and how we must become one in these hard times.
Mr. Obama used many persuasive techniques in his speech, and a couple that seemed to overpower the rest were the emotion and power in his word choice, and symbolism in the things he said. In his speech, Obama used strong words like "sacrifice" "faith" "enduring" and "precious". It is very important to choose powerful words when talking to your audience, to hook them in and get them interested in what you have to say. Strong words help them bring out emotions, empathize, or simply feel what you'd like them to; In just using a couple powerful words, you can capture your audience's hearts and put them in your shoes. A good example of symbolism in Obama's speech would be when he said "during rising tides of prosperity and the still waters of peace. Yet, every so often the oath is taken amidst gathering clouds and raging storms." He symbolizes bad times with raging storms, and times of peace are represented by still waters and rising tides.
I believe that the president's main message to us was that although we are going through very hard times, but we will get through it and he will lead us through this time of crisis. It takes a great president to pick up the pieces and take up the reigns of a country in disaster. As Obama states in his speech "Today I say to you that the challenges we face are real. They are serious and they are many. They will not be met easily or in a short span of time. But know this, America - they will be met."
Mr.Barack Obama was inaugurated on January 20, 2009. He has made history by being the first African American president of the United States of America. Barack Hussein Obama is known for his promise for change. The historic moment was watched from around the world because the action of the United States of America affects almost every nation around the world like the ripple effect. Barack H. Obama wanted to let his nation know that he would fix the current flaws that the U.S.A has. Mr.Obama had two main ideas in his speech, the challenges he will have to bravely face, and the acts that he will take to counteract the difficulties that have been set before him. “Our economy is badly weakened, a consequence of greed and irresponsibility on the part of some, but also our collective failure to make hard choices and prepare the nation for a new age.” This excerpt from his inauguration speech explains one of the challenges that Obama has to solve. Our economy is very weak, and when he talks about greed and irresponsibility it ties to the major companies that have become to greedy. Barack has created many policies that he mentioned in his inauguration speech that deal with challenges faced to America. “We will harness the sun and winds and the soil to fuel our cars and run our factories.” This policy partly solves our energy problem with clean reusable energy therefore creating a better environment along with a better country. A president is known and remembered by the problems they face during presidency and how they solve them that are a reason that Barack used these main ideas. (Mrs.Mejias). Obama uses techniques to aid the persuasion of the audience. He used our founding fathers as a guild line throughout his speech to intrigue for example he said “For us they fought and died, in places like Concord and Gettysburg; Normandy and Khe.” In this example he tells how people in the past have risked life and limb for their work and country. He uses powerful symbolism in his speech to explain to the people that presidents have gone into office during harsh times but they still lead our nation for the better good;” Yet , every so often the oath is taken amidst gathering clouds and raging storms.”” Time and again these men and women struggled and sacrificed and worked till their hands were raw so they might live a better life.” The words that are used in this sentence are very effective because they are motion provoking. Using these special techniques creates a more intriguing speech for the audience. Barack H. Obama gave a very special speech on the 20th of January. His speech focused on what he planned to do for the well being of the United States of America and that he will sacrifice all he has, to accomplish his tasks; “grateful for the trust you have bestowed, mindful of the sacrifices borne by our ancestors.”
On January 20, 2009, Barack Obama was inaugurated as the 44th President of the United States of America. His inauguration was viewed by millions of people all over the world. He spoke of this and said "...And so to all other peoples and governments who are watching today, from the grandest capitals to the small village where my father was born...". Men and women everywhere were emotional just listening to him speak. It was because they knew he was breaking tradition. He was becoming the first African American President in the history of the United States and his beliefs bring hope and change for our country.
In his speech,Barack Obama mostly fixated on the problems that America is having right now. The war in Iraq, global warming, and the economy were just a few of the problems he addressed. A quote that I thought was very meaningful was "We remain a young nation, but in the words of Scripture, the time has come to set aside childish things". What he is trying to say here is that even though we are the youngest nation, we need to stop acting like it. We need to mature and take care of the problems that we have created for ourselves. He also mentioned religion a few times, referring to the Scriptures, and said things like; "We are a nation of Christians and Muslims, Jews and Hindus-and non-believers. We are shaped by every language and culture, drawn from every end of this Earth".
I thought that President Obama's speech was very impressive. I saw that he got really in depth with some of the words he chose and that they were very meaningful and powerful. He uses metaphors to emphasize on the meanings of things. One example of this is "As we consider the roads that unfold before us...". He also used a lot of imagery, "...In the coldest of months, a small band of patriots huddled by dying campfires on the shores of an icy river. The capital was abandoned. The enemy was advancing. The snow was stained with blood." President Obama also talked directly to us, saying things like, "...But know this America-they will be met..." and "America. In the face of our common dangers, in this winter of our hardship, let us remember these timeless words...".
President Obama's message to us was that we need to fix the dangerous situations that we have put ourselves in. He was also very reasonable by saying that the solutions to these problems won't be met right away, but will be solved in time. We will keep our heads held high and not back down. We will try the very best we can to get our country back to the way it should be and with Obama's leadership we will have a greater sense of country pride. I really believe that it is not possible to have elected a better president. He is a great speaker and role model. He ended his speech by saying, "Let it be said by our children's children that when we were tested we refused to let this journey end, that we did not turn back nor did we falter; and with eyes fixed on the horizon and God's grace upon us, we carried forth that great gift of freedom and delivered it safely to future generations."
Analysis on President Barack Obama's Inauguration Speech
On the twentieth of January in 2009, a great moment in history occurred. Mr. Barack Obama, the first African American man running for president, recited his inauguration speech. The American citizens closely listened to every word for this man would be their new president for at least the next four years. Obama presented his inauguration speech to the United States of America promising us the best he could and would do for our country. Barack Obama brought up many great points in his inauguration speech, letting us all know that he is aware of the problems our country is facing today. There are two issues in particular that I think he approached very well. One of them, is when he said, "The question we ask today is not whether our government is too big or too small, but whether it works-whether it helps families find jobs at a decent wage, care they can afford, a retirement that is dignified. Where the answer is yes, we intend to move forward. Where the answer is no, programs will end." The democrats and the republicans have been fighting and will be fighting for years over whose way of government works best. Democrats favor a larger government and republicans favor a smaller government. Barack Obama is saying that the size of government does not matter, the only thing that does matter, is if the government does work properly. Another big issue he brought up was the terrible crisis we are in right now. He says, "Our nation is at war... Our economy is badly weakened... Our health care is to costly... Our schools fail to many..." This shows that he is well aware and understands the struggles that our country is going through. Obama used different techniques to persuade the U.S. citizens that he would help our country be the best that it could be. Obama reassured us that our country is a great one and that together we can make our country even better. He said that, "We remain the most prosperous, powerful nation on earth." He also said, "Starting today, we must pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and begin again the work of remaking America." This shows that he has faith in our country and what it can become. President Obama also showed through his speech that peace is wanted with all and we would be glad to help other nations. He said, "... America is a friend of each nation and every man, woman, and child who seeks a future of peace and dignity, and that we are ready to lead once more." "... But that we will extend a hand if you are willing to unclench your fist," Obama said implying that if others would except it, we would be more than glad to have a peaceful relationship with other nations. In this historic inauguration speech of President Barack Obama, he states many of his great views on how to make our country better. He says that he well understands the problems our country is facing right now letting us know that he is aware and will fight to make the problems go away as much as possible. He also approached the continuous debate of the democrats and republicans on what should be the proper size of our government. He states that size does not matter, but the only thing that does matter is if it works. He showed that he wants peace with all other nations so that our life can be worry-free or wars. Lastly, he proved to us that he has great faith in our country, giving us hope that we will succeed through hard times. President Barack Obama wrote a great inauguration speech proving that he will be a great president of the United States of America.
On January 21, 2009, Barack Obama was sworn in as President of the United States. He gave a speech that will not be forgotten for years to come. He addressed all Americans by television, the approximately two million who had gathered on the lawn of the capital mall, fellow politicians, and peoples from various places around the world. His message was, “a new era of responsibility.” Obama’s message, “we have chosen hope over fear,” (paragraph 8) was profoundly inspirational.
“To the Muslim world, we seek a new way forward, based on mutual interest and mutual respect. To those leaders around the globe who seek to sow conflict, or blame their society's ills on the West, know that your people will judge you on what you can build, not what you destroy.” (paragraph 23)
In this except Obama boldly addressed the countries under Muslim rule. ABC news reported that no other president has done this. It was powerful because he started his statement with a positive message about the future. He is saying that the Muslim leaders who are not doing the right thing will not have it work out for them. Governments that are not liked by their people will eventually fall apart.
“In reaffirming the greatness of our nation we understand that greatness is never a given. It must be earned. Our journey has never been one of short-cuts or settling for less. It has not been the path for the faint-hearted, for those that prefer leisure over work, or seek only the pleasures of riches and fame. Rather, it has been the risk-takers, the doers, the makers of things -- some celebrated, but more often men and women obscure in their labor -- who have carried us up the long rugged path towards prosperity and freedom.”
In this except Obama stated that if you want to become great you have to work for it, in the way that our country has. America was built of people who worked hard, not on people who seeked leisure.
Several persuasive techniques were used in this speech, for example, appeal to reason
“The question we ask today is not whether our government is too big or too small, but whether it works -- whether it helps families find jobs at a decent wage, care they can afford, a retirement that is dignified. Where the answer is yes, we intend to move forward. Where the answer is no, programs will end.” (paragraph 15)
appeal to emotion,
“For us, they toiled in sweatshops, and settled the West, endured the lash of the whip, and plowed the hard earth. For us, they fought and died in places like Concord and Gettysburg, Normandy and Khe Sahn.” (paragraph 10)
appeal to authority, “At the moment when the outcome of our revolution was most in doubt, the father of our nation ordered these words to be read to the people: ‘Let it be told to the future world...that in the depth of winter, when nothing but hope and virtue could survive... that the city and the country, alarmed at one common danger, came forth to meet [it].’ America: In the face of our common dangers, in this winter of our hardship, let us remember these timeless words.” (paragraph 32-34) I believe that this speech was one of, if not the most, inspirational speeches I have ever heard. What the speech said, as well as the way President Obama delivered it, made it extremely strong.
On January 20th, 1009 President Barack Obama was inaugurated into office in front of not just the American public but also several other countries around the world. In his attempt to get almost all and if not all of the American public to accept him as president he used several key words such as prosperity, power, legacy, heritage, and strength as wellas several other strong words.
Obama spoke of many thins happening in the country mainly the economy and the war in Iraq. He spoke out to the public about the war and even went as far as to call it a crisis by saying “… we are in the midst of a crisis in now well understood. Out nation is at war, against a far-reaching network of violence and hatred.” This shows that he takes the war just as seriously as the public. In th speech he also spoke about the economy and the state that it is in “Our eonomy I sbadly weakened, a consequence of greed and irresponsibility on the part of some, but also our collective failure to make hard choices and prepare the nation for a new age.” By addressing the economy he knows that all of America is responsible for the economy and the state that its in.
He even attempted to persuade the public into accepting him as president. The first technique he used was metephor he went very far by saying “…every so often the oath is taken amidst gathering clouds and raging storms. At these moments, America has carried on not simply because of the skill of vision of those in high office, but because we the people have remained faithful to the ideals of our forbearers, and true to our founding documents.” He also tried to relate to the public by using current events such as “… we are in the midst of a crisis in now well understood. Out nation is at war, against a far-reaching network of violence and hatred.” And “Our eonomy I sbadly weakened, a consequence of greed and irresponsibility on the part of some, but also our collective failure to make hard choices and prepare the nation for a new age”
President Obama was attempting to relate and strengthen his bond with the American public and to reaffermine his position as president. He knew that he had plans for the future and that he needed to remind the public that he was going to work as a representative of the people of the united states.

Obama Speech

President.
Inagueration of Barack Obama- Analysis
By: Samantha Scott
1/22/09
One example is, "For us, they toiled in sweatshops and settled the west; endured the lash of the whip and plowed the hard earth."
Another persuasive technique he used was imagery.

Obama Speech
By: Nina Doering
By Nathan Beutler

Analysis on President Barack Obama's
Inauguration Speech
For us, they fought and died in places like Concord and Gettysburg, Normandy and Khe Sahn.” (paragraph 10)
appeal to authority,
“At the moment when the outcome of our revolution was most in doubt, the father of our nation ordered these words to be read to the people: ‘Let it be told to the future world...that in the depth of winter, when nothing but hope and virtue could survive... that the city and the country, alarmed at one common danger, came forth to meet [it].’ America: In the face of our common dangers, in this winter of our hardship, let us remember these timeless words.” (paragraph 32-34)
I believe that this speech was one of, if not the most, inspirational speeches I have ever heard. What the speech said, as well as the way President Obama delivered it, made it extremely strong.
Sorry I posted late I didn't get to it Friday.
